Argos girls basketball coach Brian Jennings has resigned after one season.
Jennings confirmed that he resigned in a text message to RTC but declined further comment.
Argos went 7-16 overall and 2-6 in the school’s first season in the Hoosier North last year. The season ended with a 40-36 loss to Triton in the sectional quarterfinals Feb. 4.
Jennings had four years of previous head coaching experience at Rochester from 2018-22. He won sectional titles there in 2020 and 2021.
He replaced his brother Scott as head coach at Argos. Scott Jennings is now an assistant women’s basketball coach at Manchester University.
Brian Jennings, a 1986 Argos grad, is the the youngest of five boys, all of whom played basketball for coach Phil Weybright at Argos.
Brian Jennings’ replacement will be Argos’ fourth coach since Gary Teel retired from coaching in 2018. Teel guided Argos to a Class 1A state runner-up finish in 2016 and another sectional title in 2017.
