J.J. Morris hit three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 20 points while also grabbing nine rebounds, and Michael Richard scored 12 of his 17 in the first half to lead the Argos boys basketball team to a 79-28 win over West Central in a Class 1A, Sectional 50
quarterfinal at Triton Tuesday.
Dylan Kindig had 14 points and seven rebounds, and Jake Stults contributed a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds) for the Dragons, who improved to 16-5 and will carry a three-game winning streak into its semifinal game against LaCrosse.
Teddy Redinger made all three of his field goal attempts and had eight points.
Blayden Huber had 12 points, and Ayden White had 10 for the Trojans, who finished 4-18. West Central has not won a sectional game since 2013.
Argos had a 41-14 rebounding advantage and also made as free throws as West Central attempted (9).
Argos led 25-4 after one quarter and extended the lead to 44-16 at halftime.
Argos has won its last nine meetings against West Central.
Argos was ranked No. 12 in the final Associated Press Class 1A poll of the season which came out earlier Tuesday.
