Pioneer finishes 9th as Seward shoots 89

The Caston boys golf team shot a 417 and finished eighth among 10 complete teams at the Pioneer Invitational at Pond View Golf Course in Star City Saturday.
Meanwhile, Pioneer carded a 421 and took ninth.
A.J. Dague led the Comets with a 79. Colby Pugh added a 90, Luke Graham had a 117, and Chas Warpenburg had a 131.
Dague’s score was third-lowest among all individuals.
Jaden Seward was the low Pioneer scorer with an 89, Micah Rans had a 97, Cole Franklin had a 117, and Tayt Smith and Brady Price each shot 118.
Lewis Cass won the tournament with a 334. Rossville was second with a 366.

Knox 198, Caston 205 (Tuesday): A.J. Dague led Caston with a 41 in a road loss to Knox at Chesapeake Run Golf Club in North Judson Tuesday.
Colby Pugh added a 43, Luke Graham had a 56, and Chas Warpenburg had a 65.
