Bernicky tosses 2-hitter, Myers, Manuel have 2 RBIs each in Valley shutout win

Tippecanoe Valley 6, Southwood 0 (Wednesday): Markus Bernicky pitched a two-hit shutout with one walk and eight strikeouts, and Evan Myers and Cameron Manuel had two RBIs each for the Valley baseball team in a Three Rivers Conference home win over Southwood Wednesday.

Myers had a pair of doubles, and Cody Smith had a pair of singles and an RBI. Noah Prater also had two hits in Valley’s 10-hit attack.

Annikan Pettit had a triple, Manuel had a double, and Bernicky and Hunter Craft each had a single. Bernicky also had an RBI.

Bernicky was also the winning pitcher in relief in Valley’s 5-4 win over Maconaquah on Tuesday.

Valley scored two runs in the second and four more in the fifth.

Valley is 5-2 in the TRC. They moved into a second-place tie with Whitko, who lost to Northfield 7-2 on Wednesday.

Rochester, who beat Maconaquah 8-0 on Wednesday, is 6-0 in the conference.
