Pioneer 10, Triton 0 (6 innings, Tuesday): Crystabelle Blickenstaff went 4 for 4 with two homers, a double, a single and five RBIs, and Tiara Denny pitched a four-hitter for host Pioneer in a win over winless Triton (0-7) in their Hoosier North opener at Herk Hoffman Field Tuesday.
Blickenstaff had three of Pioneer’s eight extra-base hits. Casey Webb added two doubles and two RBIs, and Ava Beasy had a single, a double and two RBIs. Jocelynn Vincent and Kamryn Newby each had a double.
Adeline Cripe and Emma Sells had two hits each.
Pioneer also stole seven bases.
Denny walked three and struck out six.
Pioneer led 1-0 after three innings before scoring three runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth. They ended the game with two runs in the sixth.
The Pioneer-Winamac softball game scheduled for Monday was postponed due to inclement weather and rescheduled for April 25. The Pioneer-Tippecanoe Valley game scheduled for April 25 has been canceled.
