Brouyette’s season ends at diving regional

Rochester junior Maddy Brouyette finished 19th out of 20 divers at the Valparaiso diving regional Tuesday, ending her season.

Brouyette, who was competing at her first diving regional after finishing third at the Warsaw sectional Saturday, scored 164 points.

Brouyette is a first-year diver at the prep level.

Only the top eight divers at the regional advance to state.

Northridge seniors Jiselle Miller, Kaitlin Simons and Evie Long took the top three spots.

Culver Academy’s Claire Feick finished sixth and became the first diver from the Warsaw sectional to make state since Logansport’s Abbi Zartman did it in 2016.
