Warriors beat Trojans for 18th consecutive meeting

Winamac 64, West Central 61 (OT, Friday): Ethan Burgess and Justin Potthoff scored 19 points each as the visiting Warriors handed Class 1A, No. 4 West Central their first loss Friday.
Parker Zeider hit a pair of 3-pointers in the first quarter and finished with 10. Jaybin Hines and Will Malchow added eight each. Malchow had Winamac’s only field goal in the overtime.
Brendan Grindstaff and Brady Bishop had 22 points each for West Central.
Winamac made 15 of 18 free throws, including 4 for 4 in the overtime. West Central was 4 for 6 from the line.
The teams combined for 20 3-pointers.
West Central led 36-34 at halftime and maintained a 50-48 lead after three quarters. The game was tied at 58 at the end of regulation.
Winamac won their sixth straight game and improved to 13-2. West Central dropped to 11-1.
Winamac beat West Central for the 18th straight time. The Trojans have not beaten the Warriors since Jan. 29, 2010.
