Calhoun scores 13, but Argos falls to Triton in sectional semis

Boys basketball

Triton 61, Argos 37 (Friday): Mack Calhoun scored 13 points, and Zhayne Hellums added nine, but the Argos boys basketball team dropped a Class 1A, Sectional 51 semifinal to Triton at Culver Friday.
Angelo McMillen hit a pair of 3-pointers in the first quarter and finished with six. Mekhi Austin also had six.
Calhoun’s nine-point flurry in the second quarter kept the Argos deficit at 33-22 at halftime. Triton extended the lead to 52-27 after three quarters.
Argos had 28 turnovers as compared to Triton’s six.
Argos finished 4-20. They also lost to Triton 67-23 on Feb. 5 in their regular season meeting.
Jayden Overmyer scored 22 points, and Brady Wood had 14 for Triton.
The Trojans improved to 21-3. They went on to beat South Central (Union Mills) 60-28 on Saturday to win their second straight sectional title.
