Calloway, Ochoa, Doran, Weyant among Rochester winners in 3-way meet at Wabash

Wachtmann, Miller, Clark claim wins as Zebra boys finish 2nd

Both the Rochester girls and boys track teams finished second in a three-way meet against Manchester and host Wabash Tuesday.

Manchester won the girls meet with 76.5 points, Rochester had 65.5, and Wabash had 29.

In the boys meet, Manchester won with 76 points, Rochester had 53, and Wabash had 35.

Rochester individual winners in the girls meet included Allyson Calloway, who won both the 800 in 2:41.85 and the 1,600 in 5:52; Daniela Ochoa, who won the 3,200 in 13:31.66; Kyra Doran, who won the long jump with a leap of 15-1; and Ashlynn Weyant, who took the shot put with a heave of 29-7 ½.

Meanwhile, Rochester boys winners included freshman Tyson Wachtmann, who took the 400 in 56.36 seconds; Grayson Miller, who cleared the pole vault at 9-0; and Grant Clark, who won the shot put with a toss of 42-9 ½.

Harrison Dunwoody lost his 110 hurdles showdown with fellow state qualifier Carson Heath of Manchester. Heath won in 14.70 seconds as compared to Dunwoody’s 15.00.

Rochester will return to Wabash for the Three Rivers Conference meet May 8.
