Clark’s 5 TD runs in first half help Winamac improve to 8-0

Winamac 48, West Central 14 (Friday): Hayden Clark ran for 157 yards and five touchdowns in the first half as No. 4 Winamac routed host West Central in a Class 1A, Sectional 41 quarterfinal Friday.

Jadon Jones ran for 78 yards on four carries, and Russell Compton and Maddox Bucinski also had touchdown runs for Winamac.

Zayne Bell and Caleb Good each had a fumble recovery on defense.

Winamac led 42-0 at halftime.

Winamac, who improved to 8-0, will host No. 14 North Judson, who was awarded a win over Lake Station by forfeit, in the semifinals at Roudebush Field at 7:30 p.m. this Friday.

If Winamac beats North Judson, they will host either South Central (Union Mills) or Culver in the sectional final on Nov. 5.

Blayden Huber ran for 105 yards and a touchdown, and Gerardo Salazar ran for 86 yards and a touchdown for West Central (2-8).

Winamac has not lost to West Central since 2012.
