Collins, Wegner lead Winamac striders to girls-boys sweep of Pioneer

Winamac 26, Pioneer 29 (boys, Thursday)

Kate Collins won the girls meet to help lead Winamac to a dual meet road win over Pioneer Thursday. Teammates Maggie Smith, Kelsey Wegner, Alexis Sheets and Kingsley Kroft finished third, fourth, fifth and seventh, respectively, to round out Winamac’s scorers.

Rori Blackman was ninth, and Bethany Poor was 10th. Emily Rausch, Lily Bennett and Ariana Gualajara also finished.

In the boys meet, Winamac’s Kolbey Wegner won the race and led Winamac to the team win. Cristian Cardenas was third, Carson Bennett was fifth, Clay Kistler was eighth, and Cooper Jones was ninth.
