Cripe has 3 hits, Blickenstaff has 2 RBIs in Pioneer’s loss to Faith Christian

Faith Christian 5, Pioneer 4 (Tuesday): Adeline Cripe had three hits and scored a run, and Crystabelle Blickenstaff had a double and two RBIs, but Pioneer lost at home to Faith Christian in their season opener Tuesday.

Freshman Ava Beasy had a hit and an RBI, and Olivia Fisher, Jocelynn Vincent, Casey Webb and Shaylee Goings had one hit each. Webb also had two stolen bases.

Tiara Denny pitched the first three innings and took the loss. She allowed six hits and five runs (three earned) while walking five and striking out seven. Goings pitched four scoreless innings in relief, allowing three hits and a walk while fanning four.

Freshman Bella Hall allowed no earned runs over four innings for the win for Faith Christian. Payton Bridge had two RBIs, and Izzy Scott had a pair of doubles and an RBI.

Faith Christian scored four runs in the third to go ahead for good at 5-1.
