Cripe hits 4 treys, Brooke, Blickenstaff notch double-doubles in Pioneer win over Logansport

Girls basketball

Pioneer 64, Logansport 29 (Saturday): Hailey Cripe scored 13 of her game-high 22 points in the third quarter to lead the Pioneer girls basketball team to a road win over Logansport at the Berry Bowl Saturday.

Cripe hit three 3-pointers in the third quarter and four for the game.

Olivia Brooke (13 points, 16 rebounds) and Madison Blickenstaff (11 points, 11 rebounds) also notched double-doubles for the Class 1A, No. 6 Lady Panthers.

Mackenzie Walker and Brooklyn Borges had six points each.

Pioneer held the Lady Berries scoreless in the second quarter in building a 31-11 halftime lead.

The lead reached 56-15 after three quarters.

Pioneer also beat Logansport 48-29 on Dec. 5 in the Cass County Invitational title game. Pioneer has won the last four meetings between the teams. Pioneer (7-3) has also won four straight games overall by an average margin of 23.5 points per game.

The game will be Pioneer’s regular season finale.

Pioneer drops to No. 8 in 1A poll: Despite their four-game winning streak, Pioneer dropped from No. 6 to No. 8 in this week’s Class 1A coaches poll. Lafayette Central Catholic, their opponent on Tuesday, is ranked No. 7 in Class 2A.
