Volleyball falls in 5 to Winamac despite Pearl’s big night

Girls soccer

Culver 4, Washington Township 0 (Tuesday): Kassidy Banks and Kaylee Hamilton had two goals each for the host Lady Cavaliers in a win over Washington Township Tuesday.

Banks also had an assist.

Culver led 3-0 at halftime.

Culver improved to 5-2.

Culver 5, South Bend Riley 0 (Saturday): Kaylee Hamilton and Kassidy Banks scored two goals each for the visiting Lady Cavs (4-2) in a road win over South Bend Riley Saturday. Giselle Villegas also had a goal for Culver.

Hamilton had two assists, and Banks had an assist.

Kenzie Banks had nine saves in goal for the shutout.

Covenant Christian (DeMotte) 7, Culver 2 (Thursday): Giselle Villegas and Kassidy Banks each scored a goal for Culver in a home loss to Covenant Christian Thursday.

Banks and Kaylee Hamilton each had an assist.

Sophia Heath had 11 saves, and Katie Schouten added four.

Covenant Christian led 2-1 at halftime.

Boys soccer

North Miami 5, Culver 0 (Saturday): The host Cavaliers lost their season opener to sectional rival North Miami Saturday.

North Miami led 3-0 at halftime.

Cross-country

Culver at the NorthWood Invite (Saturday): Three Culver cross-country runners participated at the NorthWood Invitational Saturday.

Rose Peterson ran a 23:37 and finished in the top 20. Aleks Stacy ran a personal-best 24:32, and Quaid Primm ran a 25:10.

Volleyball

Winamac def. Culver, 23-25, 25-23, 25-22, 18-25, 16-14 (Tuesday): Maegan Pearl had 12 kills and 21 digs, but Culver lost a Hoosier North home match against Winamac Tuesday.

Chloee Danti had 11 assists, and Brynn Berndt had nine assists. Alina Pizur had four blocks.

Taylor Darnell had 18 serves received and 19 digs.
