Culver spring sports year in review: Hunnicutt named first-team all-Hoosier North

Boys golf take 4th in Hoosier North

Softball

Culver freshman outfielder Zoey Hunnicutt was selected first-team all-Hoosier North in voting done by the conference’s coaches and released to the media.

Hunnicutt hit .250 with nine RBIs and 10 stolen bases. Of the 22 players selected to the first team, Hunnicutt was the only freshman.

In addition, Luci Overmyer earned honorable mention status. Overmyer, a junior catcher-third baseman, hit a team-beat .304 with one homer and 13 RBIs.

Maegan Pearl had the other Culver hit and also scored a run. Kaitlyn Kanschat had an RBI.

Kaleigh Fritch took the loss in the circle. She pitched the first ⅔ of an inning and allowed two hits and 10 runs (two earned). She walked five, hit a batter and struck out none. Marissa Milam relieved and allowed nine hits and 13 runs (six earned) in 4 ⅓ innings. She walked six and fanned two.

The Lady Cavaliers scored 10 runs in the top of the first and later broke an 11-11 tie with 12 runs in the seventh.
