Cumberland scores 19, Kiser adds 18 in Valley win over Whitko

Tippecanoe Valley 56, Whitko 42 (Dec. 16): Nolan Cumberland scored 14 of his 19 points

in the first half, and Tayde Kier added 18 for the host Vikings as they won their Three Rivers Conference opener over Whitko on Dec. 16.

Kyler Johnson added seven, including five in the fourth quarter.

Valley jumped out to a 15-8 lead after one quarter with Cumberland Kiser combining for all 15 points. The lead was 29-15 at halftime.

Valley won their fifth straight game and improved to 5-1, 1-0 TRC. Kyler Krull scored 23 points, and Brent Bowers added 14 for Whitko, who fell to 1-6, 0-1.

Valley and Whitko have split their last six meetings.
