Davis, Tindi, Backus score 2 goals, lead Rochester past Culver in regular season finale

Boys soccer

Rochester 7, Culver 0 (Tuesday): Wyatt Davis, Rabuor Tindi and Spencer Backus scored two goals each, and Jonas Kiser added his first career goal for the host Zebras as they beat Culver in their regular season finale at the Brent Blacketor Memorial Sports Complex Tuesday.

Kiser is a newcomer to soccer, and this was his first goal in any organized soccer game.

Davis and Carlos Plascencia also had three assists each.

Aiden Harrington and Elliot Miller each had one save in goal for the combined shutout.

Seniors honored included Adarius Ranstead, Adrian Ochoa, Brayden Furnivall, Braden Harrington, Aiden Harrington, Junior Criollo, Tyler Reese, Dakota Burden, Davis and Tindi.

Rochester finishes the regular season 8-7-1. They will play Peru at Maconaquah at 6 p.m. Monday in a Class 2A, Sectional 22 quarterfinal.

Culver dropped to 0-8. Opponents have outscored the Cavaliers 56-1.

They travel to Oregon-Davis at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
