Despite ground attack, NM falls to S. Adams at regional

South Adams 25, North Miami 22 (Friday): Lake Musall ran for 142 yards and a touchdown, and the North Miami ground attack racked up 332 yards in a loss to South Adams in a Class 1A regional Friday.

Ryan Meredith added 79 yards, and Hartley Hoover had 74, and each also ran for a touchdown.

Cooper Pattison contributed six carries for 31 yards.

North Miami ran for 332 yards while South Adams ran for -5. However, South Adams had a 322-0 edge in passing yards.

Tytus Lehman threw three touchdown passes for the Starfires. Derek McKean caught seven passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns, and Wesley Summersett caught four passes for 118 yards. Jax Wanner snagged two passes for 61 yards and a score.

Jordan Simon led the defense with seven tackles, and Rex Moore had six. Meredith had four tackles, including one for a loss.

North Miami led 14-13 at halftime. South Adams captured a 19-14 lead after three quarters before North Miami came back to lead 22-19 in the fourth.

South Adams won their seventh straight game to improve to 10-3. They will host Pioneer in a semistate at 7:30 p.m. this Friday.
