Egolf, Cox, Petersen all reach double figures in Valley season-opening win

Tippecanoe Valley 54, Bremen 39 (Thursday): Ava Egolf scored 13 points to lead three Valley players in double figures in a home win over sectional rival Bremen at Rita Price Simpson Court Thursday.

Kelsey Cox added 11, and Macy Petersen came off the bench to score 10.

Gaby Gonzalez hit Valley’s lone 3-pointer and scored nine.

Valley jumped out to a 20-6 lead after the first quarter and maintained a 27-15 halftime lead.

Valley won their third straight meeting over Bremen. They beat Bremen twice last year, including a 56-33 win in last year’s sectional semifinals.

Kila Foster had 14 points, and Emma Kincaid had 12 for the Lady Lions (1-1).

Valley also routed Bremen 40-3 in the JV game. Freshman Hadley Wise scored 10 points to lead Valley; Lindahl Walls had eight; Hailey Stookey, Maycee Koch and Lillie Koch had six each; and Izzy Woodruff and Kherington Craft had two each.
