Ex-Pioneer star Brooke transfers to N. Illinois

Former Pioneer guard Ashlynn Brooke is transferring to Northern Illinois.
The announcement was made on the Northern Illinois’ women’s basketball account on social media.
Brooke spent the previous three seasons at Ball State. She played in 24 of Ball State’s 33 games and averaged 2.7 points per game in 2025-26 as the Cardinals shared the Mid-American Conference regular season title with Miami (OH).
She did not play and received a medical redshirt in 2024-25 after suffering a knee injury and undergoing surgery.
Brooke played in 10 games in 2023-24 during her freshman campaign in which Ball State went 28-6 overall and 16-2 in the MAC.
Located in DeKalb, Northern Illinois is a MAC rival of Ball State’s. They went 7-23 overall and 4-14 in the MAC in 2025-26.
Brooke is a 2023 Pioneer grad. She will have two years of eligibility remaining.
