Argos to host Class 1A girls, boys soccer sectionals

Rochester will host a volleyball semistate, Culver will host a regional, and Pioneer will host their Class 1A sectional, according to minutes released from the IHSAA Executive Committee meeting Tuesday.

Rochester will host a semistate Nov. 1. The IHSAA will determine which class it will host after the regionals Oct. 25. A team must win two matches in one day to win a semistate. The winner of the semistate will advance to the state finals at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis Nov. 8.

Culver will host two separate regional matches for the second straight year Oct. 25. The regionals might or not be in the same class, and the IHSAA uses site proximity when determining which regional matches go to which site. Culver won a regional title on its home floor last fall.

Pioneer will host Class 1A, Sectional 50, which will also involve Caston. Pioneer won a Class 2A sectional the last time it hosted in 2023. South Newton won Class 1A, Sectional 50 last year on its home floor and would eventually advance to the semistate final.

In other area fall sports sectional site news, Argos will again host a Class 1A girls and boys soccer sectional. Soccer sectionals week is set for Oct. 6-11.
