Fincher, Meadows help Zebra JV beat Carroll

Rochester 8, Carroll (Flora) 4 (JV, April 8): Gavin Fincher had singled and doubled and three RBIs, and Trenton Meadows threw 2 ⅔ scoreless innings of relief for the win as the Rochester JV topped host Carroll April 8.

Braylon Smith singled and drove in two runs, and Jay Ritter had a hit and an RBI. Meadows and Jesse Smith also had RBIs.

Camden Zink singled and walked twice, and Mitchell Clark also singled.

Rochester won despite their pitchers walking 10 batters and hitting two others.

Zink pitched three innings and allowed one hit and two runs (both earned). He walked five and fanned seven. Clark pitched one-third of an inning and allowed no hits and two runs (both earned). He walked two batters and hit one.

Meadows then finished, allowing three hits and three walks but striking out four.

Carroll trailed 4-0 in the third but came back to tie it before Rochester scored four runs in the top of the sixth.
