Giant killers: Brown, Brooks, Nelson lead RHS past Marion

Girls soccer

Rochester 3, Marion 0 (Thursday): Mercedes Brown and Macie Nelson each had a goal and an assist to lead the RHS girls soccer team to a shutout win at home over Marion at Brent Blacketor Memorial Sports Complex Thursday.

Tessa Brooks also scored for the Lady Zs (2-0).

RHS had a 26-3 advantage in shots on goal. Kaillie Woods had three saves for the shutout.

RHS will travel to Eastern (Greentown) for a game at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Culver 6, Victory Christian Academy 1 (Thursday): Baleigh Binkley had a hat trick, and Giselle Villegas, Kenzie Banks and Kaylee Hamilton each had a goal for Culver in a home win over Victory Christian Thursday.

Giselle Villegas also had three assists, and Hamilton had an assist.

Culver led 3-0 at halftime.

Culver 9, Oregon-Davis 0 (Sept. 5): Baleigh Binkley scored four goals for the Lady Cavaliers in a rout of Oregon-Davis Sept. 5.

Kaylee Hamilton scored twice, and Kenzie Banks, Giselle Villegas and Tiara Howard had one goal each.

Villegas had two assists, and Banks, Jane Wright and Abbi Kisela had one assist each.

Culver led 6-0 at halftime.
