Gonzalez scores 8, but John Glenn hits 4 treys in 4th to beat Valley

Girls basketball

John Glenn 42, Tippecanoe Valley 30 (Friday): Addison Reese hit four 3-pointers in the second half and scored a game-high 14 points, and Mia Hurford added 12 to lead the John Glenn girls basketball team to an Indiana Northern State Conference road win over Valley Friday.

Dani Divine added seven, all in the second half.

Gaby Gonzalez scored eight points to lead Valley, and Dalynne Bussard scored six, all in the third quarter for Valley, who fell to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the INSC.

John Glenn improved to 6-0, 2-0. All six wins have been by double figures. The 30 points allowed were a season-high.

Valley led 14-11 at halftime and still led 22-21 after three quarters, but Reese and Dre Weddington combined for four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.

The teams have split their last four meetings.
