Caston 5, Lewis Cass 4 (Thursday): Noah Herd went 3 for 3 with a solo homer, two singles and a walk, and Lane Halterman had two hits and an RBI for the Caston baseball team in a road win over Lewis Cass Thursday.
Logan Mollenkopf had two hits and a run scored at the plate and also pitched a perfect seventh with two strikeouts for the save.
Eli Holloway pitched the first 5 ⅔ innings for the win. He allowed six hits and four runs (one earned) while walking four and striking out nine. He threw the maximum 123 pitches.
Ryder Craig got the final out in the sixth.
Holloway, Craig and Mollenkopf combined to retire the final seven batters.
Caston trailed 4-2 after two innings, but London Herd and Halterman had RBI singles in the third to tie the game.
Holloway singled, stole second, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored the go-ahead run on a balk in the sixth.
