High school football roundup: Fenters leaves Maconaquah for McCutcheon

Michael Fenters has resigned as the football coach at Maconaquah to accept the same position at McCutcheon.
Fenters went 20-3 in his two seasons at Maconaquah. Maconaquah’s only regular season loss during his tenure was a 48-6 loss to Rochester Oct. 17 in the regular season finale in the game that decided the Three Rivers Conference title.
Ethan Robbins has been named Fenters’ replacement at Maconaquah. This is Robbins’ first head coaching position. Previously, he had been the defensive coordinator at Greenfield-Central.
Robbins will be Maconaquah’s fifth coach since 2019.
Pioneer’s Rans, NM’s Simon named to North All-Stars
Pioneer’s Micah Rans and North Miami’s Jordan Simon have been selected to play in the North-South All-Star Football Classic at Decatur Central High School, 5251 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, at 7:05 p.m. July 10.
Rans, who played quarterback at Pioneer, is listed as a running back on the North roster. Simon is listed as a linebacker.
In addition, North Miami’s Joe Grant and Jeff Grant are listed as North assistant coaches. Joe Grant is North Miami’s head coach. Jeff Grant is Joe Grant’s father and an assistant on his North Miami staff.
Andy Thomas, who has already stepped down as Angola’s coach, will be the head coach for the North All-Stars. Thomas was the Culver coach from 2006-13.
This is the 60th annual North-South All-Star Football Classic.
A banquet will be held at 7:30 p.m. July 9 at Primo South, 2615 National Avenue, Indianapolis, to honor the All-Stars.
Tickets are $35, and game programs and All-Star clothing will be on sale at the banquet and at the game.
Proceeds go to benefit Shrine Hospitals and the Indiana Football Hall of Fame.

3 Pioneer, 2 Rochester players named Region IV All-Stars
Pioneer quarterback Micah Rans, running back Noah VanMeter and offensive lineman Liam Rouch were named Indiana Football Coaches Association Region IV All-Stars.
Rochester offensive players Brant Beck and Grant Clark were also selected to the team. Beck was selected as running back and Clark as an “at-large” player.
Rochester, Caston, Pioneer and Winamac are RTC area schools located in Region IV.
Parker named Offensive Player of Year
Taylor University running back was named the Mid-States Football Association Mideast League Offensive Player of the Year.
Parker ran 210 times for 1,360 yards and 21 rushing touchdowns in 2025. The 21 rushing touchdowns set a Taylor single-season record and ranked third nationally in NAIA. He was also fourth in rushing yards and fourth in scoring with 126 points.
Parker is a Silver Lake native and a 2024 Tippecanoe Valley grad.
