The University of St. Francis softball team will play Texas A&M-Texarkana in an Opening Round game at the NAIA National Tournament in Ashland, Ore.
This marks the first time St. Francis has qualified for the national tournament in its 45-year history.
The team is 36-11 overall and 29-7 in Crossroads League Play. The team earned an automatic bid to the National Tournament by winning the Crossroads League Tournament.
Among the players on the team is sophomore shortstop Emma Howdeshell, who is hitting .176 with one homer, eight RBIs and six stolen bases.
Howdeshell is a 2023 Rochester grad.
