Kisela, Kanschat lead Culver softball past Argos

Culver 8, Argos 6 (Tuesday): Abbi Kisela had two singles, a double and an RBI, and Kaitlyn Kanschat had a triple and three RBIs for the host Lady Cavaliers in a win over sectional rival Argos Tuesday.

Luci Overmyer singled, doubled and drove in a run, and Maegan Pearl had two hits and three runs scored. Zoey Hunnicutt had a hit and an RBI, and Kaylee Hamilton, A.J. Hinds, Marissa Milam and Gracie Milam had one hit each.

A.J. Hinds allowed six runs (five earned) over 5 ⅔ innings for the win. Hayden Lute got the final four outs for the save. She walked one and fanned one.

Aleasia Sarver had two hits and two RBIs at the plate for Argos. Kadyn Baughman had two hits and two runs scored. Lexi Schenkel had a single and two RBIs, and Ava Stackhouse and Shelbi Weiser had one hit each.

Sarver pitched a complete game but took the loss. She allowed only one earned run over six innings.

Culver trailed 2-1 in the bottom of the second before scoring four runs to take a 5-2 lead. Each team scored twice in the fourth.

The teams could meet again in Class 1A, Sectional 50, which Westville will host from May 22-27.
