Girls basketball
Winamac 51, Covenant Christian (DeMotte) 43 (Monday): Kingsley Kroft hit three 3-pointers and scored 14 points, and Maggie Smith recorded a double-double (10 points, 14 rebounds) for the Winamac girls basketball team in a home win over Covenant Christian Monday.
Aubrey Gearhart also scored 10, including six in the third quarter. Ella Gearhart had nine, and Kaya Campbell hit two 3-pointers and scored seven.
Smith also had five assists, three blocks and six steals
Skylar Bos scored 17 for Covenant Christian (6-3).
Winamac (8-3) led 23-16 at halftime.
Winamac was initially scheduled to play LaVille on Monday, but the game was postponed to 6 p.m./7:30 p.m. (JV/Varsity) Jan. 14. Covenant Christian was a late addition to the schedule.
