Kroft, Sailors named Senior Honorable Mention All-State

Caston’s Craig, Douglass, NM’s Donaldson make Underclass Honorable Mention

Two RTC area girls basketball players were selected Senior Honorable Mention All-State, and three others were selected Underclass Honorable Mention All-State in voting done by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association and released to the media.

Winamac’s Kandace Kroft and North Miami’s Grace Sailors were named to the Senior Honorable Mention All-State list.

Kroft, a 5-5 guard, averaged 18.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 3.2 steals per game for the Lady Warriors. She led the team in scoring, assists and steals and guided Winamac to a 19-7 overall record and a 6-2 record in conference play.

The 19 wins were a five-win improvement on last year and the most wins in a season for Winamac since 2012.

Kroft also ranked second in the state with 97 made 3-pointers.

The 5-11 Sailors averaged 9.7 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.7 steals and 2.6 blocks per game for North Miami, who went 18-9 and won Hoosier North, sectional and regional titles.

Caston’s Allison Craig and Madi Douglass and North Miami’s Kayden Donaldson made the Underclass Honorable Mention All-State team.

Craig, a sophomore forward-post, averaged 6.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for the Lady Comets, who improved from seven wins in 2024-25 to an 11-13 record in 2025-26.

Douglass, a 5-6 junior guard-forward, led Caston in scoring (16.8 ppg), rebounding (8.1 rpg), assists (3.8 apg) and steals (3.7 spg). She also scored her 1,000th career point in a 34-29 loss to Pioneer in a sectional semifinal game Feb. 6.

Donaldson, a 5-10 junior forward, averaged 12.3 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.9 blocks per game.
