Winamac senior Kandace Kroft has signed with Franklin College to continue her academic and basketball careers.
The signing was announced on the Winamac athletic department social media account.
Kroft, the Hoosier North MVP in 2025-26, averaged 18.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 3.2 steals per game for the Lady Warriors. She led the team in scoring, assists and steals and guided Winamac to a 19-7 overall record and a 6-2 record in conference play.
The 19 wins were a five-win improvement on last year and the most wins in a season for Winamac since 2012.
A four-year starter at point guard, Kroft scored 1,214 career points.
“They were one of the colleges that reached out to me,” Kroft said on social media. “And I didn’t know if I wanted to play, and I wasn’t sure about it, so I went and toured the college, met the coaches, met the teammates, and they showed me everything they could offer me outside of basketball. The campus was really beautiful, and I thought it would be just a really good fit for me.”
Franklin is an NCAA Division III school located about 20 miles south of Indianapolis.
