Lady Dragons commit 10 errors in semifinal loss to Triton

Triton 17, Argos 3 (5 innings, Tuesday): Katherine Horta-Suarez had two hits, and Maddie Overmyer, Ava VanDerWeele and Addi Denton each had a hit and an RBI for the Argos softball team in a loss to Triton in a Class 1A, Sectional 51 semifinal at South Central (Union Mills) Tuesday.
Samantha Umbaugh also had a hit. Grace Thomas walked twice.
Ella Dean pitched all five innings, allowing eight hits and eight earned runs. She walked five, hit five batters and fanned eight.
Argos committed 10 errors, which led to nine unearned runs for Triton.
Triton scored six runs in the third inning to build a 7-0 lead. They added five more in the fourth and five more in the fifth.
Argos finished 3-23. They have never won a softball sectional title.
Triton improved to 5-16 and will play host South Central at 11 a.m. Eastern Saturday in the sectional final.
