Lady Zs sweep singles, win TRC opener over Peru

Rochester 4, Peru 1 (Monday): Ella McCarter, Audrey Bolinger and Rylee Clevenger won their singles matches in straight sets, and Sophie McCall and Emma Murphy won at No. 2 doubles to lead the Rochester girls tennis team past Peru Monday.

McCarter handled Jacey Boswell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Bolinger knocked off Sophia Greer 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Clevenger beat Brylee Smith 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

McCall and Murphy teamed up for the first time and defeated Gadea Benavente and Loane Granger 6-0, 7-5.

Abbi St. Martin and Ellie Straeter lost 6-2, 6-3 to Addie Butt and Madilyn Clark at No. 1 doubles.

Rochester is 7-1 overall and 1-0 in the Three Rivers Conference going into Wednesday’s match at Whitko.

Rochester also won the JV match 3-0.
