North Miami 1, Peru 0 (Tuesday): Sydney Lane scored off a Delilah Weaver assist with 33:33 left to help North Miami avenge a regular season defeat to Peru in a Class 1A, Sectional 36 quarterfinal at Culver Tuesday.

Weaver floated a pass between two Peru defenders that Lane received. She then dribbled closer to the goal and took one step right before firing a shot back to her left and past the Peru goalkeeper.

The goal was the second of Lane’s career.

North Miami improved to 8-7-1 and earned a semifinal matchup with Argos at 7 p.m. today. Argos blanked Wabash 4-0 in Wednesday’s other quarterfinal.

Peru finished 4-9-1. Peru had beaten North Miami 4-0 in a Sept. 3 game in Denver.

North Miami has never won a girls soccer sectional title.
