LaVille 5, Tippecanoe Valley 1 (Thursday): Hunter Paxton drove in Valley’s lone run with a sacrifice fly, but the Vikings dropped an Indiana Northern State Conference road game to LaVille Thursday.
Liam Newcomer reached twice for Valley on a single and a walk, and Jamison Phillips and Max Harsh each had a single.
Paxton pitched the first five innings, and Newcomer pitched the sixth.
Paxton allowed six hits and four runs (one earned) while walking three and striking out two. Newcomer allowed a hit and an unearned run while striking out one.
Andre Gonzales pitched a three-hitter with two walks and six strikeouts for the Lancers. He also had two hits and two runs scored at the plate.Â
Lucas Underwood singled and doubled and had two RBIs, and Landon Swihart singled and had two RBIs.
Valley had four errors, and LaVille had none.
Valley dropped to 2-11 overall and 1-8 in the INSC.
