Manuel fans 12, Haines drives in 3 as Vikings beat North Miami

Tippecanoe Valley 8, North Miami 5 (Thursday): Sophomore Wes Haines singled and doubled and had three RBIs, and Cameron Manuel struck out 12 in pitching a complete game for the visiting Vikings in a win over TRC rival North Miami Thursday.

Issiac Ramsey and Noah Prater each had a hit and an RBI, and Manuel also had an RBI. Hunter Craft and Cody Smith each contributed a single.

Manuel allowed eight hits and a walk. Only two of the runs he allowed were earned as he pitched through three errors behind him.

Landen Hunt had three hits and an RBI for North Miami. Gage Fulk added two hits and two RBIs.

North Miami pitchers combined to walk six and hit three batters.

Valley scored six runs in the top if the sixth to take an 8-2 lead.

Valley is 3-2 in the TRC, and North Miami is 2-3. Rochester leads the conference at 5-0.
