McGlothin scores 10, but Zebras suffer first loss to sectional rival Lewis Cass

Boys basketball

Lewis Cass 49, Rochester 35 (Wednesday): Tristin Miller scored 16 points, and Luke Chambers added 14, and the Lewis Cass boys basketball team beat sectional rival Rochester at the RHS gym Wednesday.

Tyson Johnson added nine points, and Tyson Good added seven for the Kings, who won their fifth straight game and improved to 6-2.

Chambers made all six shots he attempted, Lewis Cass shot 54 percent from the field.

Tarick McGlothin scored 10 points to lead the Zebras (3-1). Grant McCarter added nine, and Kyle Reinartz had eight. Reinartz also had a team-high nine rebounds.

Rochester led 19-18 at halftime, but Lewis Cass outscored Rochester 22-8 in the third quarter to take a 40-27 lead after three quarters.

Rochester committed a season-high 14 turnovers.

Rochester played without all-conference forward Quin Stesiak (quarantine).

The sectional is March 2-6 at Delphi.

Rochester plays six of their next seven games on the road. Their next home game is against Tippecanoe Valley Jan. 15.
