Pioneer 46, North Newton 19 (Tuesday): Mia McKaig scored six of her game-high 16 points in the fourth quarter, and Liz Kennell added 13 for Pioneer in a rout of North Newton in a Class 1A, Sectional 50 quarterfinal at North White Tuesday.

Lois Layer added nine, and Avery Haselby had eight for the Lady Panthers (9-15).

Piper Ivey led North Newton (6-18) with eight points.

Pioneer will play Caston in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Friday. Caston beat North White 33-28 in Tuesday’s other quarterfinal.

Caston beat Pioneer 38-27 in Royal Center on Dec. 16 in their regular season meeting.
