McLochlin’s 36 helps Rochester top Manchester, Southwood

Rochester 168, Manchester 171, Southwood 177 (Wednesday): J.R. McLochlin shot a 38 to lead the Rochester boys golf team to a win over host Manchester and Southwood over the front nine at Sycamore Golf Club in North Manchester Wednesday.

Noah Riffle added a 41, Isaac Heishman had a 43, and Davis Renie and Robert Bozzo had a 46.

McLochlin’s round included back-to-back birdies on Nos. 1 and 2. Riffle birdied Nos. 4 and 8.

Southwood’s Griffin Chambers shot an even-par 36 to earn medalist honors.

Rochester already has nine-hole wins over North Miami, Whitko, Peru, Wabash and Northfield.

The Three Rivers Conference tournament is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 28 at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru.

Rochester won the JV match 198-198 on the fifth player’s score tiebreaker. Enrique Navarro led the Zebra JV with a 46.
