Miller has 2 hits, but Rochester softball commits 5 errors in loss to Eastern

Eastern (Greentown) 8, Rochester 3 (Monday): Aubrey Miller doubled and later had an RBI single in the sixth inning, and Brailyn Hunter also had an RBI single for Rochester in a home loss to Eastern Monday.

Bria Rensberger had a single and would eventually steal home in the second inning. Aubrey Wilson had a single.

Hunter took the loss in the circle. She pitched the first three innings and allowed five hits and seven runs (four earned). She walked three and struck out none. 

Mia Howdeshell pitched the final four innings and allowed five hits and one unearned run. She walked one and fanned four.

Rochester committed five errors that led to four unearned runs for Eastern.

Kenzie DeGraaff allowed two hits and two runs (one earned) in four innings for Eastern. She walked one and struck out two.

Marly Coan, Emillia Andrews and Kendall Wilson had two hits each for Eastern.

Eastern scored three runs in the top of the first and increased the lead to 4-0 in the second. After Rensberger’s steal of home, Eastern responded with three more runs in the third to lead 7-1.

Rochester fell to 3-4 going into today’s conference opener against Southwood.
