Murphy wins at No. 3 singles, but Lady Zs fall to Peru

Girls tennis

Peru 4, Rochester 1 (Monday): Emma Murphy won in straight sets at No. 3 singles, but the Rochester girls tennis team lost a Three Rivers Conference home match to Peru Monday.
Olivia Bailey lost in two sets at No. 1 singles, and Ellie Straeter lost in three sets at No. 2 singles.
J.J. Graber and Abriella St. Martin lost in straight sets at No. 1 doubles, and Hailey Crissinger and Ella Ramsey lost in straight sets at No. 2 doubles.
Rochester dropped to 6-9 overall and 2-6 in the Three Rivers Conference.
Peru also won the JV match 1-0.
Rochester hosts Northwestern at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the regular season finale. Bailey, the team’s lone senior, will be recognized.
The IHSAA draw is at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Ellie Straeter (RHS) lost 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Emma Murphy (RHS) won 6-1, 6-0.
