Argos 3, LaVille 0 (Tuesday): Yahir Fajardo had two goals and an assist, and Ioan Petz added a goal and an assist as Class 1A, No. 19 Argos shut out host LaVille at Newton Park Tuesday.
Petz scored the game’s first goal off a Fajardo assist in the 36th minute to open the scoring. Fajardo scored a minute later off a Petz assist to make it 2-0.
Fajardo would score an unassisted goal in the 65th minute to complete the scoring.
Argos had a 7-5 advantage in shots on goal and 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
Sawyer Crace had five saves for the shutout.
Argos won their fourth straight game to improve to 4-1. They have allowed only four goals in five games.
Argos moved into the top 20 with their No. 19 ranking in this week’s coaches poll. This marked the first time any team in Sectional 36 has been ranked in the poll this season.
