NM’s Sturch shoots 93, advances to regional

Girls golf

The North Miami girls golf shot a 430 and finished sixth out of seven complete teams at the Western sectional at Chippendale Golf Course Friday, but Bryanne Sturch advanced as an individual to next week’s regional.

Western won the sectional on their home course with a 379. Eastern (Greentown) (386) and Kokomo (398) also finished in the top three to advance.

Peru’s Piercey Dyer (72), Maconaquah’s Aubrey Stoll (78) and Sturch (93) were the top three individuals on non-advancing teams, and they also advanced.

Dyer also took medalist honors.

In addition to Sturch, other North Miami players included Savannah Rentschler’s 109, Alexandria Blackford’s 110, Kinley Deardorff’s 118 and Alivia Haynes’ 138.

Lafayette Jefferson will host the regional at Harrison Hills Golf Club in Attica at 9 a.m. next Friday.
