No area players earn IBCA all-state honors

No RTC area players earned Indiana Basketball Coaches Association statewide honors that were released Tuesday.

The highest honor a Three Rivers Conference player received was the Small School All-State honor that Southwood’s Carson Rich received. Rich was one of just 16 seniors in the state to receive the award.

Southwood’s season ended with an 86-70 loss to Kouts in the Class 1A semistate at Lafayette Jeff Saturday. Rich scored 30 points. The Knights finished 17-11.

Other TRC players recognized included Manchester’s Max Carter and Weston Hamby and Whitko’s Brett Sickafoose, who made the Senior All-State Honorable Mention list; and Peru’s Matt Ross, who made the Underclass Honorable Mention list.

Two Hoosier North players recognized included Triton’s Ashton Oviedo and Tyson Yates, both of whom made the Underclass Honorable Mention list.
