Omondi takes 100, 200 as Valley places 5th at INSC

Tippecanoe Valley junior Owen Omondi won both the 100 and 200 meters at the Indiana Northern State Conference boys track meet at LaVille Wednesday.

Valley scored 41 points and finished fifth in the six-team field. LaVille won with 171 points.

Hudson Shepherd was fourth in the high jump and sixth in the long jump, and Collins was fifth in the 800 and seventh in the 1,600 and were the only other Valley athletes to score in more than one individual event.

Christopher Marquez finished fourth just ahead of Hammons in the 800.

Omondi won the 100 in 11.74 seconds to beat LaVille’s Dylan Miller by 0.24 seconds. He then followed by running the 200 in 23.11 seconds and beating Bremen’s Jacob Douglass by 0.71 seconds.
