Boys golf

Wes Parker beat teammate Ethan Young in a sudden-death playoff for medalist honors, and the Valley boys golf team had all five players earn all-Indiana Northern State Conference recognition on their way to winning the inaugural conference tournament at Pretty Lake Golf Club in Plymouth Saturday.

Valley shot a 327 and beat runner-up Knox by 46 strokes. Jimtown was third with a 378.

Parker and Young both shot 76, and Valley’s Nash Bouse was third overall with an 86. Evan Bolinger added an 89 and tied for fourth to also make the all-conference team.

Thad Shambaugh had a 92 to take eighth and claim honorable mention status.
