Parker shoots 84, but Valley’s season ends at sectional

The Tippecanoe Valley boys golf team shot a 356 and finished seventh out of 10 complete teams at the Warsaw sectional at Eagle Glen Golf Club in Columbia City Monday.

Wes Parker led Valley with an 84 but missed out advancing as an individual by three strokes. Eli Love had an 86, Nash Bouse had a 90, Ethan Young had a 96, and Thad Shambaugh had a 121.

Valley has not advanced as a team to the regional since 2009.

Meanwhile, Culver had an incomplete team. Aleks Stacy, the lone Cavalier golfer, shot a 115.

Warsaw made it back-to-back sectional titles with a 311, and second-place Plymouth (324) and third-place Huntington North (333) also advanced to the Warsaw regional at Stonehenge Golf Club in Winona Lake Thursday.

Northfield’s Easton Shaw (75) and Tyson Baer (76) and Manchester’s Connor Trump (81) had the three lowest scores among individuals on non-advancing teams, and they also advanced to the regional.

Trump defeated Culver Academy’s Manolo Mariscal Osorio in a playoff for the final individual spot.

Shaw won medalist, defeating Warsaw’s Robbie Finlinson in a playoff.
