Peru 56, Rochester 41 (Friday): Carson Paulik hit six 3-pointers and scored 22 points, but the Rochester boys basketball team lost a Three Rivers Conference ross game to Peru at Tig-Arena Friday.
Jonas Kiser added eight points. No other Zebra had more than three points.
Zion See led Peru with 18 points while Reis Bellar added 15.
Peru went 17 for 28 from the foul line while Rochester made just 1 of 8.
Peru led 13-7 after one quarter and maintained a 24-18 lead at halftime. Rochester trailed 36-26 in the final minute of the third quarter, but Paulik hit a 3-pointer off a Kiser assist with seven seconds left to cut the lead to seven.
Another Paulik 3-pointer from the left wing 25 seconds into the fourth quarter cut the margin to 36-32.
But Rochester would go the next 5:13 without scoring as Peru went on an 8-0 run.
An Alex Chapman layup in transition made it 44-34, but See took the inbounds pass and drive coast to coast for a layup and a foul, and he converted the 3-point play to increase the lead to 13.
Peru would lead by as many as 20 in the fourth quarter.
Peru improved to 6-13 overall and 4-4 in the TRC. Rochester dropped to 8-11, 3-5.
This marked the seventh straight year the home team won the Rochester-Peru game. Rochester has not won at Tig-Arena since 2002.
In the JV game, Rochester put three players in double figures in a 57-51 win. Aiden Wilson had 18; Linden Wilburn added 12, all in the second half and all on 3-pointers; and Parker Casper had 10. Van Kiser added eight, Chapman had four, Grayson Miller had three, and Owen Lett had two.
