Paulik verbally commits to Taylor

Rochester senior Carson Paulik has verbally committed to continue his baseball and academic careers at Taylor University.
Paulik went 5-2 with a 1.83 ERA last year on the mound. In 46 innings, he allowed 37 hits and 12 earned runs while walking 20 and striking out 65. He has a career 15-7 record in three varsity seasons with a 2.59 career high school ERA and 177 strikeouts over 140 ⅓ innings.
Offensively, he hit .300 with one homer and 13 RBIs last year and an .850 OPS. He has a .333 career batting average with a .914 OPS.
Paulik plays for the Indiana Bulls travel organization.
He also plays football and basketball at Rochester.
Taylor went 47-11 last season and won the Crossroads League regular season and tournament titles. The 47 wins broke the school record, and the team was ranked No. 9 in the final NAIA poll of the year. Taylor pitcher Gabel Pentecost was a sixth-round pick of the Houston Astros in the MLB draft last month.
