Pettit homers, Myers, Manuel also get 3 hits in Valley rout of Triton

Tippecanoe Valley 16, Triton 2 (April 10): Annikan Pettit homered as part of a four-run first inning and finished with three hits and three RBIs, and Cody Smith and Noah Prater also had three RBIs each for the visiting Vikings as they won their first game after returning from spring break on April 10.

Evan Myers and Cameron Manuel had three hits and two RBIs each. Smith and Prater had two hits each. Hunter Craft, Issiac Ramsey and Wes Haines each had a hit and a run scored.

Valley had 16 hits, four of which went for extra bases.

Markus Bernicky got the win, allowing three hits and no earned runs in three innings. Prater tossed three scoreless innings while allowing one hit and fanning three, and Myers walked two and struck out three in a hitless seventh.

Valley led 8-2 after five innings before scoring three in the sixth and five in the seventh.
